Let’s share good food, great company, and gentle movement under the shade at Freedom Park. Whether you’re brand-new to Tai Chi or you’ve been practicing for years, this is an easygoing day to connect, sample different styles, and enjoy Tucson’s fall weather together.

📍 Where: Freedom Park Ramada #1, 5000 E 29th St (between Craycroft & Swan)
🚗 Parking: Use the south parking lot (drive around to the back). The ramada is next to the ball field.
🥗 Bring: A snack, dish, or non-alcoholic drink to share (optional), comfy clothes for Tai Chi, friends & family

What to Expect

  • Warm welcomes & community vibes. Meet fellow practitioners from across Tucson.
  • Food & conversation. A relaxed potluck—no pressure to bring or do anything, just come as you are.
  • Flow sessions in the park. Short, low-key Tai Chi/Qigong shares for all levels.
  • Try different styles. Curious about another form? This is a friendly space to explore.

Activities

  • 11:00–11:20 Arrivals, setup, and hellos
  • 11:20–12:00 First round of Tai Chi/Qigong mini-sessions
  • 12:00–1:00 Potluck lunch & open conversation
  • 1:00–2:00 Share circle: demos, tips, breathing practices
  • 2:00+ Hang out, stroll, freestyle practice — stay as long as you like
(Come and go anytime—this is casual and community-led.)

Potluck Tips (Totally Optional)

  • Simple is perfect. Chips & salsa, fruit, cookies—no stress!
  • Label if needed. Note common allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten).
  • Bring what you can. A small dish or drink is plenty.
  • Supplies help. Extra cups/plates/napkins are always appreciated.

Tai Chi Share Circle (All Levels Welcome)

We’ll offer short, 5–10 minute guided practices you can try:
  • Gentle warm-ups & joint circles
  • Basic standing meditation (Zhan Zhuang)
  • Easy Qigong sets (e.g., 8 Pieces of Brocade)
  • Foundational Tai Chi movements and breath
Want to lead a tiny segment? Beautiful— Just speak up when we gather!

Who’s Invited?

  • Practitioners from any school or style
  • Curious newcomers (no experience needed)
  • Friends, family, and respectful onlookers
  • Kids welcome with a supervising adult

What to Bring

  • Optional potluck item (snack/side/drink, non-alcoholic)
  • Comfy clothing & shoes for light movement
  • Water bottle, sun protection, and maybe a camp chair or picnic blanket

Accessibility & Comfort

  • Ramada shade and nearby restrooms (park amenities)
  • Flat walking surfaces from the south lot to Ramada #1
  • Seated versions of movements offered—participate at your comfort level

Weather Notes

We’ll practice under the ramada if it’s sunny or lightly drizzly. If severe weather pops up, we’ll post a quick update on our channels and by text.
